On The Graveyard Book

I’ll be away from my computer for most of this week but I didn’t want to leave without posting so here are a few of the questions that The Graveyard Book raised for me. Feel free to comment on mine or add your own!

What would Marek Oziewicz think of this novel in light of the fact that Miss Lupescu is a character of Eastern European descent and Neil Gaiman is a British author?

Why was Silas granted Freedom of the Graveyard and why did he agree to be Bod’s guardian?

Is it significant that Bod’s single excursion into the world of formal education ended so horribly?

If names are as unimportant as Gaiman implies throughout the novel, then why do the members of the graveyard decide to assign Bod both a first and last name?

Lines from The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane

Dear Imaginers:
As I mentioned in class, I am struck with the poetic nature of the lines themselves in this book. Can you please just select a quote or two and post in here?
